Ah, humor. Where would we be without it? I suppose a good bit of humor throughout the ages has been devised because a particular situation is so absurd (usually in a not-so-good way) that, as beings with the ability to feel, we have to be able to invent ways to laugh about such things, else we would be perma-depressed. Such is the case with this video I found from the perfectly-named fake-non-profit “HAARM” (Healthy Americans Against Reforming Medicine). I’ve written a fair amount about the health care reform that’s currently heating up in Congress, but sometimes it takes the absurdity of satire – which is often simply an exercise in extending ridiculous, unsustainable arguments out to their logical conclusions, or applying similar logic to other areas of life – to show just how ridiculous the argument really is.
